Jason's Artistic Voice Shines at the Having a Say Conference

We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news and a heartwarming success story from our very own Onemda community - Jason from the Doncaster East campus has been selected as a delegated winner in the 2025 Barbara Donovan & Sarah Guilfoil Art Competition at the Having a Say Conference! His powerful and vibrant art piece, titled ‘My Voice Matters,’ earned him a well-deserved place among the winners of this highly regarded showcase of creativity and self-expression.
Jason created his prize-winning piece as part of Onemda’s Art Program last year, where he regularly explores colour, texture and meaning through painting. His passion and creativity were on full display in ‘My Voice Matters,’ which beautifully reflects his individuality and artistic voice. With support from Onemda staff member Terence, Jason submitted his work into the statewide competition, an achievement in itself!
The award came with a cash prize, but for Jason, the biggest reward may have been the outpouring of love and celebration from his friends and staff at Onemda. His success has sparked pride across the campus, and rightly so, Jason’s growth as an artist and his willingness to share his creative spirit are truly inspiring.
Jason’s enthusiasm in the Art Program is contagious. His dedication to growing his talents, trying new techniques, and exploring different ideas reminds us all that self-expression is a powerful tool, and that when people are supported to find their voice, beautiful things can happen.
