Kicking Goals at Onemda

Post Created: 20 August 2024

The Doncaster East campus has recently been buzzing with excitement thanks to an innovative football training program that’s not just about kicking goals but about promoting fitness, fun, and skill development. This program, run by North Melbourne Kangaroos VFL player Connor Downie, is an inspiring example of how Onemda continues to provide participants with unique, engaging opportunities that cater to their interests and goals.

Every Monday morning, Connor brings his professional football experience to our Doncaster East campus, where he runs a series of drills designed to improve hand-eye coordination, physical fitness, and football skills. Participants are not only learning the fundamentals of the game but are also enjoying the physical activity and social interaction that come with it. The sessions are filled with laughter, encouragement, and the satisfaction of participants hitting their stride in a football environment.

What makes this program even more special is the support from the local community. Beverly Hills Junior Football Club, with the help of a grant from Bendigo Bank, has generously backed this initiative. The club’s president, Pat Cooper, recently visited our campus, bringing with him new footballs and hats for all participants, further enriching the experience. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Pat and the Beverly Hills Junior Football Club for their ongoing support.

This football program is a shining example of Onemda’s commitment to providing participant-centric programs that align with our primary objectives. At Onemda, we focus on learning by taking the time to understand the individual needs and interests of each participant. This football program was designed with the participants' love of the sport in mind, ensuring that the activities are not only educational but also engaging and fun.

The program is led by qualified and skilled professionals, including Connor Downie, whose expertise and enthusiasm for the game have made a significant impact. Our Onemda staff work closely with Connor to ensure the program is tailored to the participants’ needs, helping them to develop new skills in a safe and encouraging setting.
