It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Goldsworthy, a cherished member of the Onemda community whose enduring commitment and invaluable contributions have left a lasting legacy.

David’s life was one of service and dedication, beginning with his rural upbringing in farming and agriculture. His expertise led him to a distinguished career with the Victorian Department of Agriculture, where he served as an Agricultural Economist, providing critical policy advice to state Ministers on key agricultural industries. With a Bachelor of Economics and a profound understanding of rural and economic matters, David’s insights helped shape the sectors he served.

In addition to his professional achievements, David was a tireless community advocate, dedicating his time and skills to volunteering in various capacities. Since joining Onemda’s board in 2003, David played an integral role in guiding the organisation’s direction, serving in several key leadership roles, including Chairperson. His expertise in policy development and implementation, combined with his steadfast commitment to Onemda’s mission, enriched the lives of many and ensured that the organisation could continue to thrive and support those with disability.

David’s contributions to Onemda extended beyond governance; they reflected his unwavering belief in the power of community and the importance of making a difference. His dedication, wisdom, and kindness will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Our thoughts are with David’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. His legacy at Onemda and within the broader community will remain an enduring testament to his life of service.
