RETURN TO NEWS

Onemda Weekly eNews - Friday 17 March, 2023

Dear Participants, Families & Carers,

We hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. It’s been a short, but busy week here at Onemda… Please make sure you take the time to check this week’s updates as some information may affect you, or the person in your care.

CONSENT FORMS – DUE TODAY!

Thank you to those who have already completed our Consent Form. We are still waiting on a number of these forms to be returned to us and it’s vital we have the information from this form on file for each program participant.

As mentioned last week, the Consent Form asks you for all the information we need to make sure we can deliver our services and seeks your consent to use and disclose that information   if necessary.

If you are yet to return the consent form to us, please complete and return the Consent forms to [email protected] (or print and send back to us) – if we receive them on Monday this is fine.

If anyone would like a printed copy of the form sent home to them, please contact reception on 98421955 or email, [email protected]

If you have any questions regarding this, please contact Onemda’s Contracts Administrator on [email protected] or phone 98421955.

ROYAL COMMISSION UPDATE

On Tuesday 14 March 2023, the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability released its 7th and final progress report, covering its activities from 1 July 2022 to 31 December 2022.

You can view the full report on the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability website.

HAVE YOU HAD YOUR SAY ABOUT THE NDIS?

The NDIS Review is a chance for you to provide your feedback. Its approach is to ‘LISTEN’ and ‘LEARN’ from people who have lived experience of disability, and the ‘PRIORITISE’ actions based on the information received.

There are many ways that you can have your say. Plus, it’s fully accessible, so you can provide your input online, over the phone, via video or by writing in.

Have you had your say?

CAMPUS HIGHLIGHT

RINGWOOD – Pathways to Independence & Employment (PIE)

Term 1 has been extremely busy for the Ringwood PIE Campus!

Participants have been exploring many different workplace opportunities including, a tour of Ezy Chef catering service, partnering with the Eastern Volunteers Services and completing a Food Handling Certificate.

On the creative side, we were very fortunate to be involved in an Art Class at ‘Live for Art Studio’ in Richmond. The Creative Arts group enjoyed learning different techniques in Fluid Art. The photo you can see to the left-hand side, is just one piece of beautiful artwork produced in the class. These artworks will be displayed at the Ringwood Campus so everyone can continue to enjoy them on a daily basis. A big thank you to Stephies Choice Foundation for making this artistic opportunity happen!
