Onemda Weekly eNews - Friday 28 October 2022

Dear Participants, Families & Carers,

Welcome to your weekly news from Onemda. Please don’t forget that all campuses are closed on Tuesday due to the Melbourne Cup public holiday. All services will be operating as normal on Monday as this is not a public holiday and Onemda will be open.

As always, there are plenty of updates this week, so please take the time to read through as some information may affect you, or the person in your care.

ANNUAL FAMILIES & CARERS SURVEY OUT NOW!

The 2022 Onemda Families and Carers Survey 2022 has just been emailed to you, providing you with an important opportunity to have your say about what’s working well and what needs improvement, so that we can plan for the future.

It’s important for as many people as possible to do the survey, which will take about
7-17 minutes maximum, depending on how many Onemda services you access. It’s anonymous, so you can be completely honest – we want the results to be a true reflection of the opinions and ideas of our community.

Thanks in advance for your time and your valuable insights!

STAYING SAFE IN EXTREME WEATHER

With the extremely wet weather we have been experiencing recently, we wanted to remind you to stay safe and refer to the SES website for further information on what to do in case of an emergency.

Here at Onemda, we have recently checked all our plumbing, gutters, and drainage to minimise the risk of flooding on-site. We have experienced some damage to garden areas and a few minor leaks, but these are all being addressed.

CAMPUS HIGHLIGHT

RINGWOOD – Pathways to Independence & Employment

Ringwood Campus has been quite busy with work-related activities in the last couple of months, and we have also been involved in some special events. These include:

A Teams Building Day which gave everyone at the Ringwood Campus the opportunity to practise working with other people in a team. It was a great day for everyone, and many laughs were shared along the way.

The Steps to Employment program participants were given the opportunity to visit the Kenworth Trucks Facility in Bayswater. It was so interesting to see this manufacturing facility in action, and everyone really enjoyed watching how trucks are made.

Our campus was also invited to assist with hosting an Open Day at Koonung Cottage Neighbourhood House. Program participants were able to show their skills in coffee making and waiting on visitors, and we all enjoyed a lovely morning, meeting new people and showing our hospitality skills!

Please enjoy the weekend. In the meantime, as always, if you have any questions about anything in this newsletter don’t hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,

The Onemda Team
